The story is replayed for Bagad Brieg, which is entering a new era. That of mourning before the quest for a new sovereign…
The foghorn pierces the fog, only broken by the halo of the braziers. A sad news has come to strike the tribe, wounded in its flesh. A reclusive people, long kept away from cities, caught up by the death of the king. Of his king.
As a last tribute to the deceased king, the tribe begins its descent towards the city to announce to its people the news. The fire jugglers open the procession, the giants mingle with the costumes worn for the occasion.
The arrival on the main square of the village is greeted by the cheers of a people aware of inaugurating a new harmonious era. Electric guitars, basses and drums mark the rhythm of the ceremony. But the time has come to find a successor. Who will be the chosen one? Who !?
‘The king is dead, long live the king!’, thunders the master of ceremonies while the young king on his throne, carried by his guard, makes his way through the amazed faithful.
From roots to legend
Formerly, Kemper celebrated each summer its Queen of Cornwall, sovereign of the people of dance. Alas, the throne of the musicians remained desperately empty. But at the dawn of the second millennium, Bagad Brieg crowned JC 1st, founder of the long dynasty of the Kings of Cornwall, revered by the pipers and drummers of the Glazik country. Countless are the traditions that have since marked the successive reigns.

Renowned for being extravagant within the bagadoù, the Briécois assert in this show this rebellious nature that characterizes them. The batteries, bombardes, cornemuses of the bagad share the pavement with the Compagnie Sonjévéyés (professionals of fire and street arts) evolving in a uchronic space where Celtic melodies, industrial percussion and electric guitars resonate.
A setting, costumes, a sound and visual atmosphere that testify to the group's urban and traditional influences.
Discover in this show, the procession of this colorful court, this coronation with quirky rituals and this incomparable artistic identity of Bagad Brieg.
